Summary of GDG Ekiti State University's event in 1st Quarter 2015

GDG Ekiti State University had laid out plans for year 2015 as reflected on the mailing list. Those plans are still in progress; however, she has hosted major events this year: Ekiti Android Study Jams (Feb 6th 2015 - till date) - Seeing the importance in student learning Android App Development which includes a certification opportunity; and lessons from professional Google Developers, GDG EKSU deeemed it fit to run a two month long Android Study jams. Google Developers Study Jams is a free series of global, community-run, in-person study groups. The first jam session is presented in partnership with Udacity and will follow their Android Fundamentals curriculum. This series will be led by certified Google Developer Group facilitators and will meet once weekly for 7 weeks. Summary of Google Developer group Ekiti State university 2014 events

Google Developer Ekiti State University began its existence on August 2014 and we has grown to be known by almost everyone (including students, administrative staffs, etc) in Ekiti State University and Ekit State at large. We have over 120 registered members (recent graduates and undergraduates) subscribed to our mailing list. #GDGEKSU #2014 we held four events until the year end 2014. Below is a brief about the events: GIS and Google technologies (Sept. 3rd 2014): This is a training directed towards equipping the students of the department of Geography and planning science with skills necessary to stand toe-to-toe with other geographers in the world. Skills to learnt include: Google Earth and  applications, Google mapmaker, Sketch-ups (for 3-D modelling of buildings and structures); Programming in GIS/ Basic Introduction to programming (Python) . EKSU Ladies Tech Day (on International Women's Day 2015) by WTM EKSU powered by GDG EKSU

We held our #IWD15 event which we tagged   "EKSU Ladies TechDay " on Tuesday 17th of March 2015. Women Tech Makers is new in the school, and this was its first event. With the theme for the event being  "Connect. Create. Celebrate" ; Our aim was to create awareness of the group; celebrate successful women already in the industry, encourage, inspire, and introduce ladies to developing, designing, and make them more interested in technology generally; and also to get more members for the WTM EKSU. ATTENDANCE.                 In total, we had: 4 female guest speakers, 86 participants;                 54 ladies,                 32 men. EVENT DETAILS.                 The event started around  10:00am  with registration of participants by the GDG EKSU Inner circle members (GDG EKSU IC).
