[Registration Open] UX Team Masterclass coming to Sub Saharan Africa

Growing the User Experience
Community in Sub Saharan Africa

Are you intrigued by the rapidly-growing world
of user experience design? Do you wonder
how good design can gain users for your
technology/software products? Are you
passionate about giving your users the
experience they deserve? Are you looking to
meet and connect with other design
enthusiasts? Yes? Then please read on.
At Google, user experience is central to
everything we do. Indeed the top thing on our
list of ten things we know to be true is: “Focus
on the user and all else will follow.” This is a
principle we embrace in product design as we
look to build products and services that
appeal to users all over the world.
We believe that an Internet made up of
websites and applications designed with the
user in mind will lead to a better experience
overall for users, regardless culture, language,
location, or how they access the internet, thus
resulting in a thriving technology community.
This is why we recently made available a
number of resources dedicated to enabling
designers and software developers learn and
explore with Google on our journey to a more
user-friendly web.
These resources include:
google.com/design : A one
stop shop for Google design
guidelines, downloadable
resources and short video
tutorials. It includes loads of
information on Material
Design , a new unified system
of visual, motion, and
interaction design (inspired
by tactile materials, such as
paper and ink) that adapts
across different devices.
Web fundamentals for
developers : A place where
software developers can get
best practices for modern
web development and
download the web starter kit
that allows them start
creating new sites in minutes
that follow all of our best
practice guidance for all
device types.
Android design guidelines :
The site for Android designers
and developers where you
can learn how to ensure that
your users have a truly world
class experience when they
use your app. It now includes
a special preview section on
material design for Android L
developer preview.
And now the good news!
